Draughtsman was founded in 1986. Our aim is to produce for
customer promotion or retail sale, maps which are accurate,
informative and enjoyable to read.

Some people illustrate maps and others make traditional, utility maps.
We combine the best of cartography and design, illustrating in
watercolour and using the latest digital technology in
imaginative ways.

We won a national 'desktop publishing' award for our computerised
mapping as far back as 1988. Over the years we have developed many
of our own special techniques. When the world product development manager
for Adobe Photoshop visited our studio to see our work and working methods,
he said he had never seen anything like it!

Our city maps are produced in a colourful and friendly style yet
include more information and a greater level of accuracy
than conventional visitor maps covering the same areas.

We have also designed a wide variety of maps in widely differing
styles for publishers, tourist boards and companies of all types and sizes.

Complicated projects are seen through from first ideas to final printing
or web use.

Our research over twenty years has enable us to build a library of
copyright source mapping which is available under license arrangements.
